The turkey shot out of the oven and rocketed into the air, it knocked every plate off the tables and partly demolished a chair.
It ricocheted into a corner and burst with a deafening boom, then splattered all over the kitchen, completely obscuring the room.
It stuck to the walls and the windows, it totally coated the floor, there was turkey attached to the ceiling, where there’d never been turkey before.
It blanketed every appliance, it smeared every saucer and bowl, there wasn’t a way I could stop it, that turkey was out of control.
I scraped and scrubbed with displeasure, and thought with chagrin as I mopped, that I’d never again stuff a turkey, with popcorn that hadn’t been popped.
On Veterans Day we honor all, Who answered to a service call. Soldiers young, and soldiers old, fought for freedom, brave and bold. Some have lived, while other died, And all of them deserve our pride. We're proud of all the soldiers who, Kept thinking of the red, white and blue. They fought for s and all our rights, They fought through many days and nights. And though we may not know each name, We thank ALL veterans just the same.

Take a turkey, stuff it fat, Some of this and some of that. Get some turnips, peel them well. Cook a big squash in its shell. Now potatoes, big and white. Mash till they are soft and light. Cranberries, so tart and sweet. With the turkey we must eat. Pickles-yes-and then, oh my! For a dessert a pumpkin pie. Golden brown and spicy sweet. What a fine Thanksgiving treat!

Title- November
November
Comes and
November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.
With night coming early
And down coming late,
And ice is in the bucket
And frost by the gate.
The fires burn
And the kettle sings,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.

Listen…
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing ghosts,
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees
And fall.

Poor Turkey

Don’t come near me turkey dear!
I’m feeling rather guilty now.
Your manner is so friendly and
Such liberties you do allow!
If you but knew that every time
I see you then I always feel
An expectation simply grand!
I see you, turkey, as a meal!
It’s just a shame to make you think
I am your friend. Please go away!
But first, do eat this nice red corn –
So you’ll be fat Thanksgiving Day!
