    December
    Author- Jean Jackson
    Title- 5 Little Reindeer

5 little reindeer playing in the snow.
The 1st one said, “Can you see my nose glow?”
The 2nd one said, “Listen to me sing.”
The 3rd one said, “I can hear the bells ring.”
The 4th one said, “let’s eat the pie.”
The 5th one said, “I’m ready to fly!”
    Then clomp went their hoofs
    And the snow fell white
As the five little reindeer flew out of sight.

    December For Many Things!
    By: Lenore Hetrick

    December! For snow!
    December! For fun!
    And also December
    To play and to run.

    Up the high hills
    All shining with snow!
    Down on our sleds
    How swiftly we’ll go!

    December! For shouting!
    December! For joy!
It’s a month that is perfect
    For each girl and boy.

  4. Snow Kisses
    By Barbara Vance

If you go out when it's snowing
And look up at the sky,
You'll feel lots of icy kisses
    As the snowflakes flutter by.

    Gingerbread Children
    by Ilo Orleans

    Gingerbread children
    Stand in a row--
    Very good children
    Always, you know.
    They never will jump
    Or kick and leap.
    Or start to cry when
    It’s time to sleep.
    They never run off
    Or look around.
    And no one has heard
    Them make a sound.
    Gingerbread children
    Are fine to meet;
    But, much better still;
    They’re good to eat.

  6. “Snow Day” by Caryn Yacowitz
It happened while we were all asleep,
Snow had fallen – six feet deep.
    The temperature was ten below.
All the roads were blocked with snow.
“No school today,” the radio said.
“Stay at home in your cozy bed.”
    So I quickly dressed
    And jumped on my sled.

  7. A Wintry Night
    By: Lyndsey Kuster

The sky is dark and the ground is white.
The world is peaceful on this wintry night.
No one around, not a sound to be heard.
Not a laugh, not a car, not even a bird.
For a moment, it’s just the snow and me.
    I smile inside.
    I feel so free.

    Santa Claus's Visit
    By: Susie M. Best

With a click and a clack
    And a great big pack
    Down through the chimney,
    Pretty nimbly
    Somebody comes on Christmas eve!
    If we are real nice
    And as still as mice
    If we never peep
    And are sound asleep
He'll fill our stockings I do believe!
    And when we arise
    Next day our eyes
    Will grow big to see
    How perfectly
He knew what we all wished to receive!
